I’m honored to have served you as Senate Finance Chairman, Judiciary Vice-Chairman, and senior Appropriations member.

State leaders asked me to replace the current Treasurer because of my financial and state budgeting experience.

I’m running for Treasurer to restore the public faith, trust and confidence in the office.

A strong advocate for open government, I’ve authored numerous sunshine laws. For my work to help regular citizens easily obtain public documents, I’ve twice received the prestigious “Freedom of Information Award.”

I sponsored Prop101 to stop property taxes from skyrocketing just because your property value increased, repealed Arizona’s Death Tax, eliminated the Marriage Tax Penalty, and passed income & property tax relief.

I was named national “Hero of the Taxpayer” for cutting taxes and STOPPING attempts (supported by my opponent) to create real estate transfer taxes and to tax services.

The Treasurer invests YOUR tax dollars; the better job done, the lower your taxes should be. Simply improving return on investment in the Permanent Common School Fund will generate millions for local schools.

I will use technology to improve investing and accountability. Taxpayers shouldn’t need a “secret decoder-ring” to understand what the government is doing with YOUR money.

Thank you for visiting my website.

Regards,

Sen. Dean Martin

For the past 6 years, I’ve had the honor to serve you in the Arizona State Senate. As the Chairman of the Senate Finance Committee, Vice-Chairman of the Judiciary Committee, and senior member of the Appropriations Committee, I have a proven record as a fiscal watchdog and taxpayer advocate.

Highlights from my record at the Senate demonstrate my commitment to improving Arizona:

§ Improved public access to government operations and documents to make government more accountable to taxpayers.

§ Sponsored Proposition 103 which amended the AZ Constitution to keep sex offenders behind bars, prohibited them from living next to schools, and strengthened notification statutes.

§ Eliminated the marriage tax penalty in Arizona.

§ Stopped all attempts to raise taxes, and passed legislation to cut your income and property taxes.

§ Repealed a $2 million annual hidden income tax increase.

§ Later this month, my bill to repeal Arizona’s “Death Tax” will be sent to the Governor.

§ This year, my bills SB1289, SB1465, SB1545, and SB1546 will prevent governments from profiting from property valuation increases, repeal $204 million in state property taxes, provide income tax relief, and phase out the tax on investment in Arizona.

I was named a national “Hero of the Taxpayers” for my efforts to cut taxes and hold the line against spending.

Now as I near my term limit for service in the Arizona Senate, many people have approached me for another office that is in need of new leadership. For over a year, I have been repeatedly asked to seek the office of State Treasurer, Arizona’s Chief Financial Officer. This February, after careful consideration and with the wholehearted support of my wife, family, friends and longtime supporters, I have decided to answer the call, and seek the office of Treasurer of the State of Arizona.

If you would like additional petitions, campaign supplies, yard signs, etc., please let us know by calling us at (602) 550-2409 or via email atvolunteer@VoteDeanMartin.com .

I am looking forward to bringing the campaign to all parts of our great State of Arizona. Please let us know if there is a community meeting, event, parade, or local party gathering in your area that we should attend. We will also want to set up small gatherings at local businesses or coffees at homes. If you would like to host an event at your home or business, please let us know at events@VoteDeanMartin.com .

It has been an honor to serve in the Senate these last six years, and I look forward to bringing my experience as a fiscal watchdog for the taxpayers to the State Treasurer’s office. During the final months of the legislative session, I will be quite busy with my legislative duties, but with your help, we will be able to achieve victory together! Thank you in advance for your support.
Regards,

Sen. Dean Martin
